eMarketing / Mass Email

Your planned giving message can be deleted along with spam. Many call it spam: "I can contact 2,000 prospects with the push of a button."

Oh, really?

Have you ever received so many e-mails that you simply deleted them all in self-defense? It’s a natural reaction that everyone - including your audience - can have. But as a planned giving professional it’s the last thing you want them to do.

We advocated "mass emailing" your prospects in 1999, and some vendors have finally caught on. It was good advice back then... but times have changed. Read why planned giving spam does not work.

In fact, some planned giving vendors advocate sending out "weekly emails" to prospects and financial advisors. We think this is a very bad idea (read Overkill Marketing: our lead article in a recent issue of the Journal of Gift Planning).

You can purchase well-written planned giving language at PlannedGiving.Com, LLC. We can also guide you to reliable agencies who follow industry standards and can target your prospects with your email campaign. But you should know the facts first.
