On behalf of the Boston Athenĉum, we would like to thank all of our current donors for their generosity and support. Here are some of their stories.

 Alice - a Trustee and Proprietor
I think it is important for us to do what we can to strengthen the institutions that enrich our lives, not only because they give us personal pleasure, but also because they enhance the life of the community. The Boston Athenæum is the fifth institution I have designated in my will to receive funds after my death.
I chose to add the Athenæum to indicate my support for a unique institution that is woven tightly into the fabric of Boston’s history and that will continue to shape its cultural future. My hope is that my grandchildren and their grandchildren will enjoy the Athenæum as much as I have, and if my modest bequest can help to make that happen, then I am truly delighted to make the appropriate provision in my will.

I have been coming to the Boston Athenæum for 60 years. When I learned that the Athenæum offered a Charitable Gift Annuity, I immediately asked for more information. I am delighted to obtain income from the same gift that allows me to give back to the Library for all I have received over the years.

I think of the Boston Athenæum as a wonderfully multi-faceted institution. It is not only a superb, tradition-rich library full of books appealing to everyone from toddlers to distinguished scholars, it is equally an active sponsor of exhibitions and programs focusing on the fine and performing arts and forums for the exploration of a wide range of ideas. Membership in the John Bromfield Society gives me the opportunity to secure for future generations the many benefits and pleasures that I have found within the Athenæum’s walls.
